Church Photography: What is a Preset

Presets are a group of photo-editing settings that can be applied to your photos to make them look more professional and give them a similar look and feel at the click of a few buttons.

Presets are not the same as Filters. Filters can’t be changed and usually change the tone or exposure while Presets are advanced editing settings that can be altered in photo editing programs like Lightroom or Photoshop.

You can save a set of photo-editing settings on Lightroom or Photoshop and then apply those same settings to every photo by saving your settings as a Preset.

It is super easy to apply a preset, even if you aren’t a photographer or don’t have any photo-editing experience.

Church Photography: How Do I Use a Preset

Presets are simple to use. You can add the preset files into Lightroom Mobile or Lightroom Desktop.

You can get the Lightroom App on Mobile for free and use the basic editing settings.

When you purchase Presets you’ll receive .dng files for mobile and .xmp files for desktop. All you need to do is import them into Lightroom and you are a few clicks away from professionally edited church photos!

Your Presets will be saved as you can see below in either Desktop or Mobile.

Church Photography: Where To Find Presets

You can search for presets on Google or Etsy. To save you time, I’ve created for you 10 Minimal Lightroom Presets for Churches.

What you want to look for in a Preset is that the White Balance and Color aren’t changed because every photo is different.

These presets are created to gently enhance your photos without looking over-filtered, giving your images a clean minimal look.

You can use these on photos of worship, portraits, lobby, greeting teams or on stage whether dark tones or light tones.

They are versatile on both indoor and outdoor photos and work consistently on all types of photography.

With the Preset Pack you’ll get a guide with step-by-step instructions to install these presets on Lightroom Mobile and Lightroom Desktop, plus some super simple tips for using them well, even if you’ve never edited a photo before.
